1 year and 9 months post op
I had actually forgotten about this blog, until someone commented on a post of mine - I didn't even realise people looked at this until I looked at a statistics page! It has been a considerable amount of time since my last post, and I can definitely say things have been improving. My thoracic curve has remained the same since surgery (34 degrees), and my thoracic/lumbar curve is now 30 degrees rather than 25 - which my doctor says could have just been an error in his first measurement. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment as I am more than willing to help anyone.

6 Months Post-Op
Yesterday, the 14th of November 2010, I was finally 6 months post-op! I am feeling so incredibly great and am pretty much now pain free except the occasional days where the pain can still be a bit much. I can't believe it has already been this long since my surgery! Also I can't believe I haven't wrote a blog for 3 months :S Got a bit slack there!
Well today I had my appointment with my Doctor, and much to my relief everything is all fine and no surgery is needed in the near future! I had been worried as my back had changed a bit since my surgery, but my doctor told me that generally occurs as your back loosens and it figures out how it feels comfortable etc.
But I found out something I hadn't expected! I had been told the day before my surgery my curves where both about 65 degrees, which was an increase by 10 degrees in 6 months. However, my T4-T10 curve was actually 89 degrees, and my T11-L4 was 75! I was absolutely shocked, and my doctor has given me an incredible correction considering the degrees they were! My curves are now 34 and 25 degrees :) Plus I have 2 rods, 18 screws and numerous hooks!
I am just so glad I had the surgery done when I did. I'm so thankful that a day for me to have surgery opened up earlier than they expected as my curves could have become much worse if I didn't have it done when I did, considering one curve increased by 25 degrees and the other by about 35 degrees!
I can feel everything I just wrote is very grammatically incorrect, but I am just so excited by my results !! I have also been told I can do whatever sports I like now except contact sports, so I am going to start bike riding, swimming and doing regular exercises as I am incredibly weak!

Today has been a great day, and I couldn't have asked for anything better considering what I have been through! To everyone else out there going through similar or worse situations, I hope you have some happiness and strength in your life, as these 2 things plus lots of support from family and friends can help you make it through difficult times. I will leave you with a lovely picture:
